Gold is the undebated king of the elements. No other has such a high significance – it’s proverbial. If all the gold in the world was melted into a cube, it would be just 20 meters long.

Auro is the king of the Elemonsters world. He is dignified, majestic and very conceited.

Silver

Silver has always played the second fiddle after gold. On the other hand we encounter it much more often in our every-day-life: In mirrors, in cutlery, in jewelry, as coating in band aids... It is even useful for making water drinkable.

Argenta is the queen at Auros side. But she is much more practical than her husband. She even has a poetic side: the moon is her sister in spirit.

Vanadium

Vanadium is found in high concentrations in some creatures like Tunicates and the mushroom Amanita muscaria (fly agaric). Its predominantely used in steel production to increase strength.

Vanadia the monster is a bit vain...

Chrome

Chromus

Most popular in its use as chrome plating for increasing the corrosion resistance of steel, causing shiny surfaces. It is also found in many pigments, in magnetic tape and many gems like ruby or emerald.

Chromus the monster loves everything that shines and glitters in rainbow colours. It is quite a show-off.

Titanium

Strong and stable but light Metal. It is used for making tools or airplanes but also for body implants. Titan Oxide (TiO2) is a popular pigment for white paint.

 

Titanus is a big and strong monster, which is very light and flexible at the same time. It is a very skilled mechanic, who can do heavy work as well as very delicate jobs.

Scandium

Scandium

Scandium was one of the first elements, which Mendeleev predicted to exist, before it was discovered. It is being used for alloys and in stadium lights.

Scanda the monster looks like a troll, but despite his appearance it is very skilled with all technical stuff.

Zinc

Zinc was probably first discovered in China. Together with copper it forms the alloy brass, of which many vintage appliances are made (very popular in the steam punk genre). Nowadays it is found for example in batteries. It is also a nutritional element.

Zinco the monster is a kind of dragon, whom Cuperina likes to ride on through the royal garden.

Nickel

Nickel

Nickel is a typical coinage metal: All around the world it is used to make coins. The 5-Cent Piece is named after it. The origin of the name comes from a mischievous sprite of German mythology, Nickel. In medieval times, miners believed that the copper ore was beset by these spirits.

 

Nick the monster is a silent mining gnome who likes to hide. Only with his buddy Cobald he likes to go out and play pranks on others.

Iron

Iron is a true all-rounder with downright proverbial meaning (just how many figues of speech with iron are there?). In ancient history man made iron tools as well as weapons. For this reason it has been associated with Mars, the god of war. As a matter of fact, the planet Mars contains a lot of iron. This explains its reddish colour – just like our blood, which also contains iron.

Ferro is the iron knight, a lovable Macho, who sometimes overshoots the mark. Ironically he doesn’t understand irony.

Mercury

Mercury is the only liquid metal at room temperature. The alchemists thought of it as the First Matter of which all metals are formed. Because of its toxicity the use in most applications is decreasing – except for energy saving lamps.

Hydrargy the monster is the king’s devious advisor. Nobody knows what his plans are and whom he is teaming up with.
